I’ve been blessed to be associated with The Seasons Music Festival as Artistic Director since 2008 and as a composer and musician since 2007. Together with the Yakima community we are doing great things here.
It’s a world-class vision—a performance hall experience that matches the best in the northwest, a program of classical, Latin, jazz, and world music that serves the Yakima Valley; a music festival that enriches the world!
Supporting great artistic output is always a challenge financially, the more so now. That makes it worth remarking that The Seasons Music Festival continues to make enormous strides—dreaming and doing, even in the face of difficult times: We’re producing an annual Fall Festival that includes performers of international stature, and an education program for emerging composers, conductors from around the world.
We’ve received a $335,000 grant from Yakima County for a major renovation of The Seasons Hall that is modernizing the facility without eroding its historic character
The Strosahl family has donated the Performance Hall to the Festival non-profit, a $1.8 million asset.
Our regular programming occupies virtually every weekend with offerings for a variety of musical tastes.
Our Music in the Schools program is INTEGRAL to our mission: it impacts thousands of local students —with plans to reach many more!
All of this has been accomplished by a dedicated board and a small, remarkable staff. What better time, then, to dream that we can find the sustaining support we need to carry this vision home. That we can use the work of the Festival founders and generosity of the Strosahl family as a springboard for accomplishing even more surprising things for The Seasons and for Yakima.
